IMT Gallery
From Dec 2021 to 2022 Nakhla was a resident artist on IMT gallery’s Digital Residency program. The residency responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and became a tool for community and creativity at a time when government lockdowns forced reconsideration of bodies, space and art-making. Through the residency Nakhla developed an accumulative collaborative album project: each month they approached artists to send audio material (field recordings, voice-notes etc.) which they used as the starting point for a new piece of electronic music. The residency became a digital platform that could host and transmit affects often associated with physical spaces, rendering them visceral and personal through the online medium.
